AlphaQuad Website Redesign and Rebrand
After years of incremental tweaks, our old website had reached its limit. It was time to stop iterating and start transforming. The previous design, despite its many, many optimisations, had begun to feel disjointed – a patchwork of ideas and improvements that ultimately led to a fragmented experience. We knew it was time to reimagine the website from the ground up, not just to refresh the look, but to better reflect who we are today as a company. The result? A sleek, cohesive new site that represents the best of AlphaQuad.
Why now?
The timing of the redesign wasn’t coincidental. We had been discussing the overhaul for over a year, always finding it easy to push to the back burner while we focused on client projects. But in 2023, we made the decision to focus on our own branding and begin treating ourselves as a client. We wanted our online presence to match the quality of our work and showcase the personality of our team. The rebrand also aligned with new goals: expanding our content strategy, launching our podcast, and increasing visibility across digital channels. It was clear that our website needed to be something we were proud to shout about.
The design philosophy
Our new design is centred around a modern, dark theme – something we hadn’t tried before. The aim was to create a sleek, bold look that better reflected our personality as a team and the depth of our expertise. We put an emphasis on a strong, flexible colour palette to delineate our different service areas, each one accompanied by a consistent, versatile set of icons. This visual coherence not only helped bring the design together but also improved navigation, making it easier for users to find what they need.


Focusing on authenticity
Another key aspect of our redesign was moving away from stock photography. We wanted the website to be a true reflection of our team – real people, not generic images. Capturing authentic photos of our team members, instead of using stock images, was a significant shift in our approach. It wasn’t easy to coordinate schedules to get everyone in the same place at the same time, but the effort was worth it. The result is a website that feels more personal, showcasing the faces behind the work and giving visitors a better sense of who we are.
Consistency across all channels
Our redesign didn’t stop at the website. We carried the new visual identity through all our channels – from social media to email campaigns. The cohesive colour palette and branding have improved our content consistency, making it easier for our audience to recognise us and our services wherever they encounter us online. This unified approach has also streamlined our social content planning, making it easier to decide where we need to focus and what we need to share.
Results and next steps
Since the launch of the new website, we have seen some significant improvements, including:

- The average keyword position increased by 26.5 places
- 50% uplift in top 3 positions
But, now that the new site is live, our work doesn’t end here. We’re committed to treating ourselves as a client moving forward. This means dedicating time each month to maintain our SEO, create fresh content, and continue optimising our online presence. The website was a significant first step in showcasing our capabilities, but we’re excited to keep evolving and experimenting – using our own digital presence as a testing ground for new ideas and creative approaches.
